American Cancer Society, on its report Global Cancer Facts and Figures in 2007 stated that there would be around 7.6 million estimated deaths from cancer. According to The Telegraph in 2013, a broadcast in the UK, “15,000 people die every year because of cancer treatment rather than the illness itself!”
How many people have died of cancer for the past few years? By observing the rate increase of cancer incidence both locally and internationally, we can say that it has been increasing.
Conventional Methods
Two of the most popular methods of treating cancer are Chemotherapy and Radiation. Both methods are applied in order to kill the cells that cause cancer. But, in doing so, it also destroys the healthy cells while weakening the immune system. According to several cancer studies done previously, these treatments are actually the cause of death of many cancer patients.
Today, a new method use to treat cancer has been introduced to the public which is the Stem Cell Transplant. In a typical stem cell transplant for cancer, it is done after a high doses of chemotherapy; sometimes, along with radiation therapy to kill the cancer cells. Afterwards, stem cells are given like a blood transfusion to replace those cells that were destroyed. Over time, these cells settle in the bone marrow and begin to grow and make healthy blood cells. The Expensive Truth
However, with the use of these conventional methods, the patient’s healthy cells may or may not be able to grow. A study has revealed that more than 75% of doctors in the world actually refused chemotherapy and radiation if they were the patient!
So, how sure is the patient that his cancer will get better? Not mentioning that stem cell treatment may cost around P500,000 – and that depends upon the type of treatment and sessions per therapy. Certainly, you’ll need 1-3 million pesos for a single stem cell transplant.
Nature’s Gift
In summary, our body works in a manner that it has its own capacity to heal itself. The use of natural treatments and herbs, which are just lingering outside our doors, are ways to help us. We don’t need expensive stem cell transplant that may cost a fortune, we just need to open our eyes and minds to the nature’s gift awaiting us.
